Your words, and what we do with them

Effective 1 August 2026 · Last updated 30 July 2026

Knewness is a place to speak Scripture over your life. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

Who we are

Knewness is operated by PeachShift LLC, 5675 Roswell Rd APT 62G, Sandy Springs, GA 30342-1237, USA (“Knewness,” “we,” “us”). We are the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at privacy@knewness.app.

What we collect

We collect as little as the app needs to work, and we tell you plainly what each piece is for.

Information you give us

Information created as you use the app

We do not use advertising trackers, we do not sell your information, and we do not build advertising profiles about you.

Why we collect it

Because Knewness is a Christian app, some of what you do here may reveal your religious beliefs — which is sensitive information under laws like the GDPR. By choosing to use a faith app and, where required, agreeing to this policy, you consent to us handling this information for the purposes above. You can withdraw that consent at any time by deleting your account.

How your words are matched

Your words stay between you and us. They are not sent to any outside company, and they are not used to build anything.

When you type how you feel, the text goes to our own servers and is turned into a set of numbers that stands for its meaning. Those numbers are compared against the same measure taken of every subject in our library, and the app answers with the closest ones. You choose which to open, and what you read then comes from the library that ships inside the app.

Once your request is answered, the text you typed is not kept in any form linked to you unless you have turned on the optional “help improve Knewness” setting, which is off by default. When the app has nothing that fits, we keep what is described under What we collect: a one-way fingerprint and a measure of meaning, never the readable text.

Crisis moments

If you may be in danger, help is always one tap away in the app — and it is never behind a login or a subscription.

If you are in the U.S. and struggling, you can call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or text HOME to 741741 (Crisis Text Line) at any time. Outside the U.S., please contact your local emergency services.

When the app detects that you may be in crisis, it shows these resources immediately. We record only that a crisis moment occurred so we can keep this safety feature working — we do not store the words you wrote in that moment. Calling or texting a helpline connects you to that organization directly; it is governed by their privacy practices, not ours.

Who we share your information with

We share information only with service providers who help us run Knewness, and only for that purpose. Each is bound by contract to protect your data. Our providers are:

That is the whole list. Nobody else receives anything.

Reminders are scheduled and delivered by your own device. We do not operate a push service and we do not hold a push token for you.

Some of these providers are based in the United States, so your information may be processed there. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for those transfers.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of a person, but we will resist requests that are overbroad or unlawful.

How long we keep it

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have some or all of these rights: to access the information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to object to or restrict certain uses, to withdraw consent, and to receive a copy of your data in a portable form.

The simplest way to exercise most of these is in the app: Profile → Delete my account removes your account and your personal information from our systems, without emailing anyone or waiting on us. For anything else, email privacy@knewness.app and we will respond within the time the law allows. If you are in the EU/UK and believe we’ve mishandled your data, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

If you are a California resident, we do not sell or “share” your personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

How we protect it

Your connection to Knewness is encrypted. Access to stored data is restricted, and the readable text of what you type is deliberately kept out of our records by design, not just by policy. No system is perfectly secure, but we build to keep the sensitive things — your words in a hard moment — from ever being sitting there to lose.

Children

Knewness is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact privacy@knewness.app and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we’ll update this page and its “last updated” date. For significant changes, we’ll let you know in the app before they take effect.
